thermometerThe cold weather season is upon us, with the morning temperatures dropping below freezing.  So what does that mean?  Well, it means many of us have to get ready for work, go out into the freezing temperatures and drive in a freezing cold car until it warms up enough to turn on the heater.

So what do many of us do to avoid that freezing cold car? We get out of bed and put on just enough clothing to go out to our cars and start them up.  We then go back inside our residences and continue preparing for work while the car warms up.  We then walk out of our residences anticipating getting into a warm car just to find out our car is not there.

This is a scenario that could happen to anyone who leaves their vehicle unattended with the keys inside.  Leaving your vehicle running and unattended is tempting for those that choose to engage in criminal activity.  Do not make yourself an easy target.  If there is no one who can stay with your vehicle while it is warming up, then it is best to dress warmly and endure the short amount of time it takes for your vehicle to warm up while you are driving.

If your vehicle is stolen then you will be late for work (or whatever appointment you have scheduled).  You will have to contact the Police to report your vehicle stolen.  You will eventually have to deal with your insurance company if your vehicle is not found or if it is found damaged.  Then you will have to deal with the inconvenience of your vehicle being in the repair shop.  Why create additional stress in your life for a few cold minutes?

Stay warm and safe!!
