Captain Jeff Ramsey issuing a Special Events Permit.
Captain Jeff Ramsey issuing a Special Events Permit.

The Town of Cornelius requires that all organizations or persons who are planning an event in the Town of Cornelius obtain a permit from the police department. The application must be filed not less than two (2) weeks before the date on which the event is to take place. The application gives the police department information on the event such as where and when the event will take place, the number of persons who will be attending and what type of services may be required from the Town of Cornelius. There is no charge for the permit. The permit helps the police department plan and schedule the different events which occur in the town and allows us the opportunity to offer police and fire services. If you are planning an event in the Town of Cornelius, you can come to the Cornelius Police Department during the week from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. to obtain a copy of the Special Events Permit or contact Captain J.W. Ramsey at 892-1363.

A hard copy of the Special Events Permit is available at our office or by mail.
