Zone Checks

The Cornelius Police Department offers a service to all of the citizens of the Town of Cornelius called a “Zone Check”. This service is provided to residents who are going out of town and wish to have a police officer check their residence periodically while they are away.

We also provide this service to businesses in the Town of Cornelius who wish to have an officer check the business for security reasons. In order for the police department to provide this service, the home or business owner must submit an online request, call, or come to the police department to fill out a zone check sheet.

The zone check sheet is a document which provides the police department with information such as how long you will be out of town and emergency contact numbers incase a problem develops.

To have a zone check placed on your home or business, complete the form below, call the police department at 704-892-1363, or come to the police department and we will assist you in filling out a zone check sheet.

Security Checks

The Cornelius Police Department also conducts inspections of both residential and business premises to suggest improvements to the physical security of the structure. This would include alarms, locks, camera systems and any other security concerns.

There is no charge for these services.
